For my birthday, which is between Thanksgiving and Christmas, I throw a big party and invite all my friends. They are not allowed to bring me any birthday presents. They bring presents for our local women and children's center. I get to take bags and bags and bags of goodies there for them for Christmas. It is the best feeling in the world!! Thank you so much for sharing this post. You blessed me!
Hugs and Happy Thanksgiving!
~ErinErinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03697110369952312067noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5254066980782889853.post-46465537782688474312011-11-21T08:50:45.540-08:002011-11-21T08:50:45.540-08:00an awesome post... all of it blessed me down to th...an awesome post... all of it blessed me down to the tip of my toes. We help out at tlc.org.za a marvelous home to the abandoned infants outside Jo'burg South Africa. Wherever one looks there are needy people to bless. I have had a greater desire to give as I have become more aware of the neediest around this world that we live in. I have also requested gifts to be given to me from the World Vision catalog, and the joy that it brings knowing the life that the gift will give is priceless! I wouldn't trade it for the world!Jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07240195057088338094noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5254066980782889853.post-85250117021348706072011-11-20T13:34:39.725-08:002011-11-20T13:34:39.725-08:00Hi Kristin – just popping in to let you know that ...Hi Kristin – just popping in to let you know that I have given you the “Liebster Award” because your blog is one of my favorites ;o) Please stop by my blog at http://www.mamaslittletreasures.com for all the details! I love the Lutheran World Relief catalog, too -- it has home items, jewelry, etc. made from people all around the world.

And I love your idea of offering coffee or wool socks to the homeless people in town. We had learned last year that she and her husband, after providing monthly support for these two siblings for awhile, provided the funds to build the family (single mom with 4 or 5 children) a house. They had been living in a teeny wood hut. This year, as this woman shared a little more about the story on stage, she told us that it only cost $248 dollars to build this home! I was shocked at how little it cost! This woman had also provided a cow, some goats and chickens through which the family has been able to provide for themselves and to make some income. It really does take SO little to make a HUGE difference in the lives of these precious people who are SO much in need! Thanks for this encouragement to do more with the abundance we have.Jennie Lathrophttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00253104789116167954noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5254066980782889853.post-11902964015700615162011-11-18T06:03:42.758-08:002011-11-18T06:03:42.758-08:00This is a great idea!!
